I like to make stuff out of my own head. I barely ever use a pattern unless I really really like the idea and don't know how to do it myself.
I have used crochets to help Kristy proof my room. I often lose my remotes around my bed, my jewelry, and random stuff. So, I crocheted stuff to help.
Other stuff I crochet. This post is not nearly all the stuff I have crocheted, I've been doing it a couple of years now.
