Poem: The Hero (inspired by The Hunger Games)

In all this death I have yet to see
a sparkle in this destruction,
a clipped bird flying free
I know that today will be your last
This stamp in time will only be one's past
and you sought to bring this whole world down
But, instead you fell right below the crown
Held on to a dream that marked your very end
Justice for you withered and didn't make a bend
I swear to you,
You dying soul
That I'll be the one to carry your life goal
Even if it makes me the next one's curse
I know this little task will save the universe

Poet Notes: Inspired but not about The Hunger Games films
